It’s been some months since I had the opportunity to venture to the Galapagos Islands, but I’m still sifting through all the shots I took of this spectacular and unique place.
One of the more special aspects for visitors is openly swimming with the four shark species there—whale shark, hammerhead shark, Galapagos shark and whitetip reef shark—because of their mild, shy nature.
In the above video, I stumble upon the more common whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus, Near Threatened). Words, and not even the footage, can describe the awe of being so close to these specimens of evolutionary magic.
Enjoy!
